WebJan 26, 2011 · A C15 has a normally closed system, not an open. Different story there. Yes, you may have gotten a bad sender. You can run switching with it with Cat ET and check it (unless it's a stand-alone like Freightliner). Keep poking at it. It's a simple system, just backwards from normal. You'll get it!! It appears that the problem is with the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor or its wiring. It had a bad coolant temp sensor on the front of the engine. It takes a large socket, like a 1 inch or so and was kind of hard for me to get out.
